Our Story

The food is real.
The opinions are too.

Who We Are

We eat for a living.
And we tell everyone about it.

The Maine Fork started the way the best things do — with a camera, a full plate, and an opinion nobody asked for.

We cover mid-Maine's food scene the way it deserves: honestly, hungrily, and without the pretension that passes for criticism in most food media. Hidden gems. Neighborhood institutions. The farm-to-table spot in a town you've never heard of that you'll drive an hour to get back to.

We started on the NH seacoast and now call mid-Maine home. We eat everywhere from Bangor to Katahdin, Ellsworth to MDI, and back down through NH and Mass when the road takes us there. If the food is worth talking about, we'll find it.

No AI images. No sponsored content disguised as reviews. No compromises.

What We Stand For

The Maine Fork difference

01
Authentic Only
Every photo was taken at a real table, at a real restaurant, eating real food. No AI. No stock. No staging.
02
Real Opinions
We say what we think. Not every meal is perfect and we don't pretend otherwise. That honesty is why people trust our recommendations.
03
Story First
Behind every great dish is a chef, a decision, a story. We find it, tell it, and make people care.
04
Maine Roots
We live here. We know these towns, these seasons, these kitchens. Bangor is home base and we cover mid-Maine with the depth it deserves — and that nobody else is giving it.
05
Hidden Gems First
The Michelin-starred spots don't need us. The brilliant little Italian place in Candia does. That's where our focus goes.
06
Built to Scale
The Maine Fork is a media brand, not a hobby page — with a library, a strategy, and a business model behind every post.
